Come celebrate Blackout Day August 14 with
Doug Kaufman at Rico's in Brimfield!
At 4:00 p.m. on August 14, 2003, a squirrel in Kent dropped an acorn onto an aging powerline and suddenly 55 million people across the Northeastern United States and Canada realized that without electricity, steaks go bad, beer gets warm and radios go silent. At 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 14, 2011, you can pay tribute to those hungry, thirsty, weary souls at Rico's Restaurant and Sportsbar in Brimfield.
The steaks (and other delicious food) will be hot, the beer (and other beverages) will be as cold as the State of Ohio allows, and Doug Kaufman will be playing and singing great songs from the past 7 decades on the patio from 5-9. And for added authenticity, I will be playing every song on an acoustic guitar.
There's cornhole games, darts, putt-putt and basketball, so bring the kids, too! With great food, great drinks and great fun, we'll be able to relive the fun of the Blackout of 2003 without, you know, all that looting and stuff.
You were probably at work the last time this happened - don't make the same mistake this year!
